About Us
Welcome to Thirlmere House Dog Boarding! We are a husband and wife team - Roger and Kate - who run a home from home dog boarding business from our victorian home, Thirlmere House in Amblecote, Stourbridge.

As a dog loving and owning couple, we found it difficult to find the right kind of care for our dog Ozzie when we were away. We tried kennels and then pet visits, but none of these options felt right, personal, and most of all a good experience for our dog. There is no enjoyment to be had on holiday when all you're doing is worrying if your dog is happy or not. So, after deciding as a family that we'd all care for each others dogs when we were away and then this quickly extending to friends, it was clear there was a need for a different kind of holiday dog care.

Thirlmere House Dog Boarding has been operating for three years now and is small but thriving business. We offer a complete home from home experience for customers and their dogs. During their stay, they are treated exactly like our own dog - neverending love, cuddles, country walks and trips to garden centres (and of course, plenty of pubs!) We strive to make their holiday as fun as their owners - if not more so!
Every dog is different, therefore a personalised plan of nutrition, exercise and care is delivered to make sure every dog is content when they are here. We are in touch with owners everyday when they are away with photos and videos to give you, the owner complete peace of mind: happy holidays all round!

Overnight Boarding

Complete home from home dog boarding. Dogs live with us at Thirlmere House as though they are our own dog. Owners must provide bedding and food for their dogs stay but the rest is down to us! Drop off home

If within a three miles radius, Thirlmere House are happy to return your dog home to you at a small additional cost.

Exceeded all expectations! There are literally not enough words to say how highly I rate Kate and Roger. I’ve only had Alfie my 2 year old rescue dog for 4 months so I was nervous about leaving him to go away for 11 nights. Right from the enquiry stage I knew Kate was the right choice to look after Alfie and to say he enjoyed his stay is an understatement. I had 2 updates every single day, pictures, videos and messages. He was treated like one of their own, beautiful walks, trips to the pub and a day out to David Austin Roses. Having daily updates meant that I was able to quickly relax into my holiday knowing that he was being well looked after. I have already booked in for next time, I wouldn’t trust him with anyone else. Thank you Kate and Roger 😊

‘Home from Home’ care for your dog As soon as we met Kate and saw how she Interacted with our precious boy, Dexter,we knew that he was going to be a very happy, well looked after dog in her beautiful home. He soon settled in, curling up on the sofa in front of the fire and looking very relaxed. Kate sent photos and videos every day with lovely comments on what Dexter had been up to. He was taken out for great walks in lots of different places and thoroughly enjoyed himself as seen in the photos. We are thrilled to have found such a wonderful ‘home from home’ for our boy. So much so he is booked in for 2 more stays in the near future with Kate, her husband and lovely dog Ozzie. We can go away on holiday knowing our boy is in the very best care.

'Doggy Home from Home' My 13 year old Border Collie had never been left before and I was worried sick about leaving her..until I met Kate, she reassured us and was available before hand to give us any information we needed. Jess enjoyed her stay so very much she loved all the walkies and love she got and we had pictures and videos which totally put our minds at ease. I have already booked Jess in for 2 weeks in September and 2 weeks next June. Thank you for your incredible service. We would 100% recommend for your fur babies
